Leona Maxine Seaton was born on March 2, 1925 to William McCracken and Emma Umber McCracken in Vici, Oklahoma. She left this Earth to meet her Creator on Sunday, July17, 2016 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Maxine was faithful to work, family, friends, and most importantly to the Lord. She first and foremost identified herself as a follower of Christ and relied on the Lord in all circumstances throughout her life. She experienced the Great Depression, WWII, and everything in between now and then.

Maxine demonstrated incredible commitment to her family. She married James Ward Seaton on January 24, 1960 in Grand Junction, CO. She had two children, Jeffrey Ward Seaton and Jamie Sue Seaton. She has three grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Seaton and Hannah Rowley. Maxine was a servant and always looked out for her family’s best interests. Company was always welcome at her place and they were guaranteed a cold beverage and a hot meal if they would stay. She understood that people were a priority and did everything she could to tend the fields she was given by the Lord. Maxine recognized that people’s souls were at stake and was known for being deeply compassionate about all people’s relationship with the Lord.

Maxine loved to cook for family, play cards with her grandchildren, and read in her spare time. She was the most practical gift-giver and consistently strived to meet everyone’s needs. She never had very much, but what she did have she freely offered to those who were in need. She was the definition of a servant, although she struggled to be served. She was known for her delectable pecan squares, her hand-made quilts, giving advice, stubbornness, and for continuing to work much harder than any women her age should.

Maxine is survived by her two children, Jeff, his wife Nini, and Jamie; her three grandchildren and their spouses, Jacob and Michelle, Hannah and Lucas, and Joe and Rickie; and several cousins and nieces and nephews. Her family rests in the promises of Scripture because Maxine’s life was defined by her love for the Lord and the hope that she had in Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Dayspring Christian Church, 8005 Highland Meadows Parkway in Ft. Collins.
