Michael Austin Howe, 68, of Hawk Springs, Wyoming, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Westlake Health and Rehabilitation in Greeley, Colorado.

Michael was born on March 26, 1958, in Escalon, California, to Robert L. Howe and Kathlee Ann (Daly) Gibbs. He spent his younger years in Sybil Canyon, Wyoming and the family later moved to Rock River, before he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he lived and ranched in Glenrock, Rock River, Chugwater, and Hawk Springs, Wyoming.

In October 1985, Michael married Jackie Blanchard in Wheatland, Wyoming. They later divorced.

Michael is survived by his three sons, Levi Thomas Howe of Killeen, Texas, Randy Bartow of Chugwater, Wyoming, and Travis Bartow of Cheyenne, Wyoming; his brothers, Timothy E. (Esther) Howe of Spicewood, Texas, and Doug L. (Connie) Howe of Yoder, Wyoming; along with other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Howe and Kathlee A. (Daly) Gibbs, and his brother, Thomas R. Howe.

A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at The Emporium Restaurant, 225 U.S. Highway 85, Hawk Springs, Wyoming.
