Michael "Shane" Scott passed away in his sleep on November 16, 2023. Shane was born on January 16, 1974, in Brush, Colorado. He attended school in Fort Morgan until Junior High when we moved to the Denver area. He was always so proud that he was enrolled in the same high school as the band Earth, Wind & Fire. He started attending some college classes at Metro in Denver, but then decided to move up to Eaton to help his mom with everyday chores.

Shane worked at Bonnie Plants for a year, then found a job as a fire alarm technician. He quickly moved into a supervisor position. He really enjoyed doing that kind of work. He loved camping and fishing, and spending as much time as he could on the golf course.

Shane met the love of his life in 2021 in Eaton, Colorado and they have been inseparable ever since. Shane and Ashley were engaged in May 2022 and were planning their wedding. They attended several "TOOL" concerts together, they were his favorite band, even his mom went to one with him. Of course, he was also a big fan of all the Colorado Sports Teams, and he probably watched or listened to every one of their games.

Shane is survived by his fiancée Ashley Spaedt and her two children, Isabella and Billy; his mother Dawn Boll; and his father Michael Scott. He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and a few classmates.

We will all miss his contagious laughter, warm smile and his great big bear hugs. He will be cremated, and his ashes spread in a couple of his favorite spots. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
