Miguel “Mike” Garza Reyes, 85 of Greeley passed away on Monday March 20, 2017 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at North Colorado Medical Center.

Mike was born on September 29 1931 in Santa Rosalia, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Miguel and Isabelle (Garza) Reyes. He was raised and received his education in West Texas. Mike was a faithful worshiper of Jehovah God. He was baptized in October 1976. On May 28, 1977 Mike married Nellie Chairez Rodriguez.

Mr. Reyes was a great father to his children, grandchildren, and mentor to many others. Mike was committed to help others to do well. He enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with family and friends; going to the mountains at the time of good health. Mike enjoyed the ocean especially in Puerto Penasco, Sonora Mexico.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Reyes; his brother, Joe Reyes; his children, Linda Kunze (Tony), Michael Reyes, Christopher Reyes, Julie Cummings (Phil), Lisa Mae Lopez, David Reyes (Michelle), Enedina Persons (Brian) and Eva Keaton (R.C.); his grandchildren, Dennis Trujillo, Joe Trujillo, Cheyenne Love Downing, Casey Bay, Christopher, Robert, Dominic and Jasalyn Reyes, Alexis, Aidan and Alia Saucedo, Ryan Keaton, Nikolas Persons, Melinda Lopez, Elizabeth Lopez, Kilikina, Kimo and Keola Cummings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Isabelle Reyes; a daughter, Elizabeth Reyes; a son, Robert Reyes; 3 brothers, Rudy, John and Ray Reyes and 2 sisters, Isabelle Urbano and Irma Sanchez.

A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4702 W. 3rd Street in Greeley.
