Murray Delano "Bill" Tapley, 80 of Greeley passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit. He was born on December 24, 1933 in Cerrogordo, Oklahoma to William Franklin and Mary Ellen (Higgins) Tapley. After Bill graduated from Broken Bow High School he moved to Tracy, California where he worked for the Holly Sugar Company for several years. He later went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Tracy, California. In 1972 he transferred to the post office in Evans, Colorado where he delivered mail until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Tapley also served as a pastor at the Colorado State Veteran's Center at Home Lake in Monte Vista, Colorado for 12 years. Survivors include his wife, Darline Tapley of Greeley; 2 sons, Kenneth Ray Tapley and Darrell Gene Tapley both of Greeley; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Harvest Time Tabernacle Church, 3040 11th Avenue in Evans. Memorial gifts may be made to the church in Bill's name.
