Nathan Marvin Martinez, 61 of Greeley passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
He was born January 8, 1955 to John M. & Ella (Hernandez) Martinez in Greeley, Colorado. He served in the United States Army. On January 26, 1990, he married Della Maez in Aurora, Colorado. They lived in Denver and Commerce City before coming to Greeley in 2010. Nathan worked as a cook in many different places, but was most proud of his construction skills. He built all the homes that he and Della lived in himself. He also enjoyed the outdoors and like to be there fishing and camping with his family. His greatest love was his wife, Della. He was constantly surprising her by letting others know how much he loved her.
He was survived by his parents, John and Ella Martinez of Greeley, his wife, Della Martinez, of Greeley, his daughter, Christine Gonzales-Ferrer of Henderson, Colorado, a brother, Obed Martinez of Evans, sisters, Lydia (Jesse) Gutierrez of Evans, and Cindy (Clyde) Stackhouse of Omaha, Nebraska, grandchildren; Nicole Gonzales of Henderson, Vincent Michael (Victoria Hinojos) Ferrer of Denver, and Steven Joshua (Alexis) Ferrer of Denver, great-grandchildren; Joshua, Jordin, Vincent and Jasmine, and numerous extended family.
He is preceded by a sister, Angie Lerma.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 1900 “AA” Street in Greeley. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
