Norman Clay Peterson, 79, of Eaton, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was born in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, on September 12, 1935, to Julius and Koneta Peterson. He grew up in Wild Horse, Colorado, and graduated from Kit Carson High School in 1953. He then attended Otero Junior College, the University of Colorado, and the University of Northern Colorado.

Norm felt blessed to have worked in a variety of fields in his career. He was a brick layer, teacher, coach, personnel director of Monfort, owner of The Greeley Hat Shop, and crop insurance adjuster.

He married Margaret on May 11, 1968, in Loveland, Colorado. Their children are Cathi Fulton, Cindy (Paul) Franks, Diana (Michael) Jacobs, Rocky (Susan) Peterson, Ricky (Judy) Peterson, Terri (Marty) Dahlgren, and Julie Geist.

Norm was a member of Lions Clubs for forty-six years. He held every local, district, and state office. He was a member of the Galeton Community Church for thirty years and current member of the Briggsdale Baptist Church.

His interests included agriculture, woodworking, antique clock repair, and sports of all kinds. His family was the pride and joy of his life.

Norm’s survivors are his wife Margaret, seven children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren and their spouses, twelve great grandchildren, and sister Glaida Craven of Kit Carson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Merle and Allen Peterson, son-in-law Earl Fulton, and grandchildren Matthew Fulton and Melissa (Fulton) Nicklas. Also preceding him in death were four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd Street. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at the Briggsdale Cemetery.
