Olimpia Garcia, 76, of Greeley, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at North Colorado Medical Center.

She was born on December 17, 1949 in El Salvador to Jose Antonio Vasquez and Trancito Garcia. She attended schools there, graduating high school. She met Roberto Garcia and they fell in love. They married in El Salvador in 1969 and together they started a family. They had four beautiful children.

Roberto passed in October of 1981, and in 1985, Olimpia moved to Moorpark, California, where she resided until 2001. While there, she worked hard as a nanny and a housekeeper. In November of 2001, she moved to Greeley, where she lived until she passed away.

Olimpia was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Garcia; her parents, Jose Antonio Vasquez and Trancito Garcia; her son, Saul Garcia; sisters, Eugenia Garcia and Tereasa Garcia; and brother, Fabian Garcia.

Olimpia is survived by her son, Melvin Garcia of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Dalila Breeden of Greeley, CO and Hilda Ostorga of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Felicita Garcia and Martina Garcia of El Salvador; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd Street in Greeley. She will be taken home by her family and laid to rest in El Salvador at a later date.
