Patricia Ann "Pat" Burgeson, 78, of Colorado Springs, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado.
She was born on August 24, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Elzie B. and Dorothy Marie (Tucker) Berry. Pat and her parents moved to Colorado Springs in 1946 where her father opened a decorating and furniture business. She has lived in Colorado Springs for over 60 years and she graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1949. She married Ernest H. Burgeson on July 29, 1966 in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Mrs. Burgeson worked for several years in civil service in Colorado Springs. After retiring, she opened a day care in her home, retiring in 1989. She was a charter member of the Village Seven Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. She was an avid crafter, seamstress, scrapbooker and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Pat's husband, children, and grandchildren were the focus of her life.
Survivors include her husband Ernest H. "Ernie" Burgeson of Colorado Springs; 3 daughters, Shara Lewis of Grand Junction, CO, Christina Ammon of Peoria, AZ and Gloria D'Arcy of Firestone, CO; 3 sons, Steve Kilpatrick of Colorado Springs, Larry Kilpatrick of Greeley, CO and Eric Burgeson of Iceland; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a cousin, Carol Granato of Pueblo, CO, and several second and third cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Hannah Kilpatrick.
A memorial service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26th at the Village Seven Presbyterian Church (4055 Nonchalant Circle South) in Colorado Springs.
Memorial gifts may be made to the City of Hope Hospital, where her granddaughter Hannah Kilpatrick was treated before passing away of cancer in 1994 at the age of 14, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado or to the Village Seven Presbyterian Church in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
