Patrick Arthur "Pat" McDonnell, 64 of Eaton, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 18, 1949 in Greeley to Pete and Betty Irene (Decker) McDonnell. Pat graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 until 1972. On September 13, 1969, he married Susan Anna Marie Renner. They have resided in Eaton since 1974. Pat worked as a production controller for Harsh Hydraulics, mechanic for Harris Aviation and Wyatt Crane. He also worked in maintenance for Bonell Good Samaritan Center. At the time of his death, he was the Post Commander of the VFW 2121. Survivors include his wife, Susan McDonnell; his son, James P. McDonnell & wife Dawn; his daughter, Tammy McAmis & husband Daniel; his brothers, William M. McDonnell and Peter W. McDonnell; grandchildren, Austin Bryan & wife Dakota, Morgan McDonnell, Schuylar McDonnell, Delaney McDonnell, Kelley McAmis and Emma McAmis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Betty McDonnell, and a brother, James A. McDonnell. A memorial service to honor Pat's life will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Greeley VFW Pioneer Post #2121, 2514 7th Avenue in Greeley. Military honors will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
