Peggy Ann Meyers, 81, of LaSalle, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Grace Pointe Continuing Care Campus in Greeley.

She was born December 25, 1943, to Ruben and Dorrine (Hoecher) Weidenkeller in San Diego, California. Her parents divorced when she was 4 years old, and her mother later married Jack Kerns. Jack Kerns adopted her and 2 siblings. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1962. She married Bert Meyers on March 14, 1964, in Greeley at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

They moved to LaSalle, Colorado in 1976, where her husband owned ABC Transmissions. Peggy worked as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Northern Colorado for 18 years and school secretary at Frontier Academy Elementary School from which she retired in 2013. Peggy and Bert shared two children, Traci Annette Burtnett and Bart Leroy Meyers

She is survived by her two children, a daughter, Traci Burtnett and a son, Bart (Shon) Meyers. She has 10 grandchildren: Drew (Stephanie) Johnson, Savannah Burtnett, Kendall (Josh) Witcher, Hillary Burtnett, Samantha (Hank) Jones, Kaela (Jose) Quinonez, Shelbey (Jerimiah) Blackwood, Shyanne Meyers, Kolton and Kelcey Meyers, 5 great grandchildren, Sawyer and Lily Jones, Jack Johnson, Gianna and Ezra Quinonez, a sister, Joyce (Max) Nickel, nephews, Brett (Annette) Meyers, Bryan (Melissa) Meyers, Will and Jay Nickel, and a niece DawnAnna Nickel.

She is preceded by her parents, Ruben, Dorrine and Jack Kerns, husband Bert, brothers, Ted Kerns, Tim Kerns, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold (Diane) Meyers, and son in law Ted Burtnett.
