Penelope "Penny" Rose Gregory, 67, of Eaton, went home to her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Greeley, CO after a 13-year journey with Neuroendocrine Cancer.
Penny was born in Norton, KS to Dean and Peggy (Small) Rogers, the second of three children. The family moved to Greeley in 1957. She attended schools in Greeley and completed high school at Greeley West via correspondence from Zweibruchen, Germany where she moved after marrying Michael Goff in 1971. The couple lived in Germany until 1974 when they returned to Greeley, CO. They welcomed daughter, Marla DeAn in 1977. They later divorced in 1980. Penny married Keith Kauffman in 1983 and they later divorced in 1992. Penny finally found and married the love of her life, Rick Gregory, in 2001 after an 8-year relationship. Penny worked for AgriFlex in the early 80s, then started working for Monfort of Colorado in the mid-80s as a secretary. She worked her way up to International Credit Manager. She retired from Monfort (then known as) Swift & Co in 1999. She started her own export documentation company, Export Credit Services, that same year and worked until semi-retirement in December 2021. She finally fully retired when her health was seriously declining in September 2022.
Penny loved Jesus and her family more than life. Her favorite name and job was "Granma". She enjoyed annual trips to Estes with her family. She looked forward to reading, traveling, and spending retirement years with her beloved. Penny lived with Neuroendocrine (NET) Cancer for 13 years and was an advocate for NET awareness. She developed many special relationships as a residual of her diagnosis. She was additionally diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a blood cancer, in Oct 2021. She battled long and hard and wanted to do whatever it took for "just a little more time" with her girls. Her granddaughters were the lights of her life; she was a faithful prayer warrior for them. The family would like to publically thank all of her medical providers over the years, but particularly the UC Health ICU team for their tender care of Penny and the family in her final 9 days of life.
Penny is survived by husband Rick Gregory, daughter Marla (Ken) Daniels, granddaughters Allegra (Luke) Pickett, and Aria "Dolly" Daniels, mother, Peggy (Estel) Haning, mother-in-law, Doris Gregory, brother Terry (Sandi) Rogers, sisters-in-law, Debbie (Bill) Lawhead and Paulette (Dennis) Schoenfeld, nephew Daniel (Tonia) Rogers, niece Heather Rogers, and many extended relatives and friends.
