Ramon D. Rosales, 81 of Greeley, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Kenton Manor Nursing Home in Greeley. He was born on August 23, 1927 in Agujita, Coahuila, Mexico to Julian and Maria (De Luz Gutierrez) Rosales. Mr. Rosales married Maria Del Socorro Perez on December 20, 1948 in Agujita, Coah., Mexico. Ramon worked for30 years in the coal mines in Mexico. He was a member of Iglesia De Restauracion Elim church in Greeley. He loved to watch television and play baseball. He was a professional baseball player in Mexico. He played for the Diablos Rojos baseball team. He was later invited by the Baltimore Orioles to play for them until a sudden stroke ended his playing career. Survivors include his 3 daughters, Gloria Neavez of Greeley, Maria Cordova and husband Ramon of Evans and Ana Betancourt & husband Lionel of Evans; his son, Ramon Rosales Jr. and wife Margarita of Rockford, Illinois; 5 sisters, 2 brothers, 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Socorro Rosales; his parents, Julian and Maria Rosales; 3 sisters, Petra Rosales, Rosa Rosales and Isabel Rosales. A funeral service to celebrate Ramon's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Moser Funeral Chapel (3501 S. 11th Avenue) in Evans. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 until the time of service. Ramon's remains will be buried at a later date in Mexico.
