Randall Stephen Rice, 72, of Evans, Colorado died on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
He was born on January 27, 1936 in Rockford, Illinois to Donald A. and Mabelle (Clark) Rice.
Randy graduated from West High School in Rockford, Illinois on June 8, 1954. Following high school enlisted in the United States Air Force. He later graduated from the Denver Automotive Diesel College. He went on to teach at the Denver Automotive Diesel College and also the Detroit Automotive Diesel College and the American Automotive Diesel College.
Mr. Rice worked for the Denver RTD in the 1970's and the early 1980's. He also worked as an R.V. Technician for Powder River R.V. in Fort Collins, Colorado. He enjoyed camping and spending time in the mountains, most especially at Mountain Park in the Poudre Canyon. Randy was also known as a "Jack of all trades" and often used his skills to help others in any project that they might have.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy McKay of Belvidere, Illinois; 2 daughters, Linda Leah Rice of Rockford, Illinois and Lynne King of Milliken, Colorado; 4 sons, Scott Rice of Beloit, Illinois, David VanBibber of Cortez, Colorado, Steve Rice and Seth Rice both of Evans, Colorado and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service to celebrate Randall's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Faith Tabernacle Church, 7001 W. 28th Street in Greeley, Colorado. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.
