Raymond Dean Dixon

Tribute: Raymond Dean Dixon was born on a farm to John and Venita McClure Dixon in Alma Nebraska. He attended School in Alma NE and Phillipsburg Kansas, and graduated from Aurora High School in Aurora Nebraska in 1951. He attended Hastings College for 3 years, then transferred to CSC (now UNC) and graduated June 1955 with a degree in Business Administration. Following a 3 year tour of duty with the 3rd armed division in Frankfort Germany he returned to Greeley. He was employed as the first personnel officer of the Weld County General Hospital (NCMC). He then worked for Pacific Finance, Provident Finance and Greeley Finance. For the past 35 years he was employed with Allstate Insurance Company as an agent until his death.
In Oct 5, 1958 He married Ruth Elaine Sivers at the First Congregational Church in Greeley. He was active in the Greeley Jaycees, a member of Occidental Lodge #20 in Greeley. A member and deacon of the First Congregational Church, was Active in Greeley Knife and Fork Club, Life Underwriters, Chairman of Resident Camp committee at Camp Amakulo, a cub master and Webolo Leader. Along with his wife in 1981 he started the Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group in Greeley following their son's accident. He was a blood donor since college and had donated over 23 gallons at NCMC.
He was fond of hunting, reading and an avid football fan.
He died at Kindred Hospital in Denver, CO after a 3 year illness.
Survivors: his wife Ruth Elaine Sivers Dixon , his daughter Roxanne Dixon, his son Rory Edward Dixon all of Greeley, his son Randy Mac Dixon, wife Tehra and Grandson Roark of Santa Rosa California, his sister Donna Jean Peters of York Nebraska, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in Death: by his parents, infant brother, and an infant child.
Services: will be held at the First Congregational Church, 2101 16th Street in Greeley, on Thursday, March 1st at 10:30 a.m.
