Raymond “Ray” Marquez, 71 of Greeley, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Centennial Health Care.
He was born June 29, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Phil and Mary (Quintana) Marquez and moved to Milliken, Colorado where he graduated high school in 1962. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1971 and worked at Mackenzie Cabinets in Greeley.
Ray loved to fish, garden, hunt, play baseball and umpire, but most of all, share special moments with his family.
He is survived by his son, Ray Marquez, Jr. from Denver, daughters: Denise Marquez from Denver, RaeAnne Guzman from Johnstown, Tracy Marquez from Greeley, and Tina Marquez from Milliken, brothers: Phil Jr. Marquez from Colorado Springs, Elmer Marquez from North Carolina, and Dan Marquez from Loveland, sisters Shirley Garcia from Denver, and Alivine Martinez from Greeley, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Phil and Mary Marquez and a sister Dorothy Lujan.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Grace Community Church, 2033 W. South 1st Street, Johnstown, Colorado.
