Reatha Joy Brug, 95, of Kersey, Colorado.

On January 5, 2025, Reatha found eternal peace surrounded by her loving family members at her home.

Reatha was born on June 17, 1929, in Littleton, Colorado to Howard and Wilma (Newman) Thompson. At age three, Reatha moved to Greeley, CO where she attended Greeley Schools and graduated from Greeley Central Highschool in 1947.

After graduating, she began her career as an operator at Mountain Bell (Century Link) phone company. She devotedly worked there until she retired in 1982. After retirement she worked for Lee's Tax Service for 15 years until the business closed.

On March 7, 1954, she married Leo Brug at St. Paul's Congregational Church. They lived in the Greeley and Kersey area and were married for 55 years when Leo passed away on October 12, 2009. They had two beautiful children Darwin and Dannette.

Over the years, Reatha enjoyed watching the Nuggets (her favorite former player Birdman), spending time with her friends and family, taking trips and the many gatherings that were held for special occasions. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports and other school activities.

Survivors include her daughter, Dannette Wilson, her son and daughter in law, Darwin and Cindy Brug, her grandchildren, Sydney (Brandon) Vaughn, Molly (Grant) Buchanan, Jerome (Jessica) Brug, Janelle Salberg, and Dean and Troy Rager; 16 great grandchildren and, two sisters in law, Jean Stoll and Ola Brug. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Wilma Thompson, her husband, Leo Brug, her son law, Chuck Wilson and a granddaughter, Nicole Wilson.

Reatha was a very strong, sweet and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was always there to support any person who crossed her path. Most importantly, Reatha loved her friends and family with all that she had and always left them feeling blessed to have known and shared so many memories with such an incredible woman.

A graveside service to celebrate Reatha's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley. A Celebration of Life will be held at Reatha's home immediately following the cemetery services.
