Rhea Louise Kallsen, 75 of Windsor, died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her home. She was born on January 9, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to John W. and Florence L. (Hackett) Gillette. Rhea attended Grover Elementary and Jr. High School where she met her future husband Alvin Charles "Red" Kallsen. She later went on to graduate from Grover High School in 1954. She then attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado and then later the Greeley Business College. She married Mr. Kallsen on September 3, 1955. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1992. Mrs. Kallsen worked many jobs in Greeley, Ft. Morgan, Cheyenne, Kimball, Nebraska, Nunn and Ault. The Kallsens were foster parents in Cheyenne for a number of years. She retired in Loveland and later moved to Windsor. She attended the First English Church in Kimball. Survivors include 3 daughters, Kimberley K. Hottell of Winchester, California, Roxanna L. Wigginton & husband Paul of Nunn and Connie L. Kallsen of Eaton; 3 sons, Mike D. Kallsen and wife Shelby of Limestone, Tennessee and John L. Kallsen and wife Pam of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Jim Hottell of Kimball; a sister, Nancy Jo Wooldridge and husband Harold of Greeley; a sister in law, Barbara Gillette Cowser and husband Marlan of Greeley; a brother, Richard L. Kallsen of Richland, Washington; 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and special friends, Jason Wilson of Ft. Collins and Cindy Ageniga of Kimball. She is preceded in death by her husband, Red Kallsen, her parents, John and Florence Gillette and a brother, Jack Gillette. A funeral service to celebrate Rhea's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A private family visitation will be held. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Kallsens family would like to extend a special thanks to Pathways Hospice for their care of Rhea in her last days.
