On the evening of Thursday, June 1, 2023, Richard passed away suddenly in his home in Platteville, Colorado, while watching TV. Richard was 54 years old.
Richard was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Alfredo and Catalina Molina on November 14, 1968. He attended school in Greeley, Colorado including Greeley Central High School. Richard lived most of his adult life in Greeley, Colorado but happily spent the last two years of his life living in Platteville, Colorado pursuing his desire to reconnect with family.
Richard worked in various occupations including as a mechanic, auto parts sales, and construction trades. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping to build a train car for the famous "Marlboro Man" while working at a Colorado Railcar Manufacturing in Fort Lupton, Colorado.
One of Richard's apparent passions was seen in his hours of landscaping in the front yard of his rental home with rocks, antique bicycles and beautiful flowers. Cousin DJ says that Richard could tell you exactly where each decorative rock came from. Richard loved his motorcycle, in fact, he even named it "Karen". Other hobbies of Richard included antiques, classic cars, his animals, and jewelry. It wouldn't be uncommon to find Richard decked out with two necklaces and a ring on every finger. Two of his favorite past times besides hanging out at family get-togethers were a trip to the Flea Market and cooking, which he learned in culinary school. Richard especially loved to bless others with his savory cooking and his favorite food was enchiladas.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Alfredo Molina. He is survived by his mother Catalina Molina, his wife MyShell Molina, daughters Crystal and Angelina, brothers Fred (Gloria), Joe (Jesi), Miguel, Buddy (Zana) and Ronnie. He is also survived by sisters Diana, Alicia (Richard), and Isabelle (Vincent). Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
A memorial service for Richard was held at Platteville Community Center on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and was attended by many family members and friends.
