Obituary

Richard Melvin “Rich” Andrews, 83, of Evans, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at his home.

He was born on July 23, 1935 in Mason City, Iowa to Albert and Josephine (Cummings) Andrews.

Rich graduated from Mason City High School and later served in the United States Navy. He married Sharon L. Hiller on February 12, 1966 in Greeley. The couple have lived in Evans since 1966.

Mr. Andrews worked as a truck driver for Shupe and Yost Trucking and Shockley Trucking before becoming the owner/operator of Rich Andrews Trucking in Evans, Colorado. He loved to read and listen to talk radio.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Andrews; a son, James F. Andrews of Evans; 2 step sons, Robert S. Brown of San Jose, Costa Rica and Gregg M. Brown of Loveland; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Bloyd and Kayla Moffet and 8 great grandchildren, McKenzie, Molly, J.J., Maggie, Marynn and Jordynn Bloyd and Teagen and Maddox Moffet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Josephine Andrews; a stepson, Kevin Brown; a half-brother, Leo Wyant; a half-sister, Sylvia Perham; 2 sisters, Betty Templeton and Alice Williams and a brother, Ray Andrews.

A memorial service to celebrate Rich’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley.
