Obituary

Richard Carl Brown, 76, of Eaton, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2012.
Dick Brown was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on March 9, 1936 to August and Ellen (Carlson) Brown. Dick graduated from Axtell High School in 1954. He was an all-state football player.
Following high school he served in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged he attended the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with a B.A. in Industrial Arts in 1961. Later he completed a Masters degree in Social Sciences. Dick taught school in Craig, Galeton and Rapid City, South Dakota. He also coached. After his tenure as a teacher, Dick worked in farm related sales and eventually became a Realtor. He owned Brown Real Estate in Eaton. Most recently he was a Broker Associate for Sears Real Estate in Greeley.
Dick married Karen M. Van Camp on June 7, 1960. Together they had 3 children: Angela, Dudley and Carl. Dick enjoyed his family immensely. He was an avid golfer, skilled craftsman, and member of the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Angela Brown-Burchett of Naples, FL; son, Dudley and his wife, Corina, of Greeley; daughter-in-law, Angela Brown of Ft Collins; nine grandchildren: Dylan, Tyler, and Blake Burchett; Matthew and Julia Brown; and Janey, Kara, Kathy, and Isabel Brown; siblings, Alyce Vath of Minneapolis, June Larson of Greeley, Bob Brown of Redondo Beach, California and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his beloved son, Carl; sisters, LoJean Marvel, Dorothy Dyer, Marge Bergstrom and brother, August.
A reception will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Eaton (3rd and Cherry). The memorial service is at 11 a.m. on Monday, the burial will precede it at 10 at the Eaton Cemetery.
