Richard Thomas White
December 12, 1939 – January 11, 2023

Dick White, 83, of Greeley, Colorado went to his heavenly home on January 11, 2023. Dick was a faithful and loving husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend to many.
Dick was the second born of five children to Forrest and Florence White in Chickasaw, OK on December 12, 1939. As a young child his family moved to Hutchinson, Kansas. He worked with his parents at their restaurant, "The Little Red School House" through high school. After High School he worked at the airport and married his high school sweetheart, Nadine Fleming.
Shortly after they were married, they moved to Colorado and Dick attended UNC. He graduated from UNC with a bachelor's degree in math, and a minor in chemistry. While in school he found a love of art and became an avid reader. Dick worked at State Farm for 35 years as an underwriting specialist. While his kids were growing up, they welcomed foster children into their home, giving them love and attention till it was time for them to be adopted. In 1978 Dick and his family were baptized and confirmed in their faith at the Evangelical Free Church.
Dick was an adventurer at heart. He loved to travel with his wife, friends, and family to see the world especially the more tropical destinations. He enjoyed remodeling his Victorian home in Eaton and designing and finishing his basement in Greeley. Taking care of his yard was also one of his passions. Everyone enjoyed coming and seeing his beautiful flowers and trees he cultivated throughout the years.
He enjoyed having his family around. In 2005 they moved from Eaton to Greeley. As their family grew, they needed a bigger home. Holidays were fun at his home and an event his family and friends looked forward to. Dick and Nadine would cook for 35-50 people every holiday. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could often find him holding a baby at family gatherings. He made sure that his family felt loved and valued.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and by his youngest sister, Sharon Vanhorn and his oldest son, Bryan White. He is survived by his wife Nadine White and his remaining 3 children, Bart (TJ)White, Brenda (Malcolm) Weaver and Lori (Kenneth) Hart, (Sharon) White and his 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, his brothers Robert (Leora) White, Ronald (LaVonn) White and his sister Peggy (Jim) Friesen and brother-in-law James (Linda) Fleming.
Please join us January 19, 2023, Christ Community Church 1301 15th Street, Greeley, CO at 1:00pm to celebrate Dick's life. Please stay after the service and visit. Refreshments will be served by the kind folks from Christ Community Church, thank you.
