Rico Alejandro Alvarado, 28, of Greeley, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Rico was born on September 4, 1997, in Greeley to Benancio Ramon Alvarado and Raquel Mendoza. He graduated from Northridge High School and later earned his welding degree from Aims Community College. Dedicated to his craft, Rico obtained numerous welding certifications and was proudly employed with W&W AFCO Steel.

Growing up, Rico was active in Boy Scouts, football, and wrestling, forming lifelong friendships and memories along the way. He enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, reading, attending concerts, and sharing laughter with those around him. Rico had a gift for making people smile with his sense of humor and playful personality. He was also a talented cook who enjoyed caring for his beloved dog and bird. Above all, Rico cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Rico is survived by his loving mother, Raquel Mendoza, and his brother, Carlos B. Alvarado.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benancio R. Alvarado; his sister, Daniella Rosita Mendoza-Alvarado; his grandfather, Ramon Y. Alvarado; and his uncle, Ignacio Alvarado.

A visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue in Evans, Colorado.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life dinner following the visitation for Rico at Kimberly’s Event Center, 1029 8th Avenue in Greeley.
