Robert Douglas Fouts, 70, of Eaton, passed away on August 24, 2014 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Robert was born on August 5, 1944 in Battle Creek, Iowa to Dean and Louise (Fouts) Lund and was later adopted by Kenneth and Feryle (Conard) Fouts. He graduated high school from Ida Grove, Iowa in 1962. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, serving three tours as a sonar technician and shore spotter. He then worked as a dispatcher for the Nebraska Highway Patrol, and later worked 30 years for Eastman Kodak until his retirement. In 1972, he married Rose M. Kuck in Loveland, where they lived from 1972 to 1992. Together they moved to rural Eaton in 1992. After his retirement, he drove a bus for the Eaton School District, the Sierra Coach, and the Greeley- Evans Transit. Bob loved riding his motorcycle, which he and Rose took on many cross country vacations, adding a sidecar when Jarrod came along. Bob was an avid bowler and golfer and he enjoyed playing pool. Bob also had his private pilot's license. Robert is survived by his wife, Rose Fouts, of Eaton; a son, Jarrod Dean Fouts of Eaton; two brothers, Richard (Elenore) Lund of Colorado and Ken (Meta) Fouts of Ohio; four sisters, Geraldean Johnson of Illinois. Judy (Jim) Dickerson of Nebraska, Regina Fox of Nebraska, and Shirley Loar of Nebraska; Sister-in-law, Pat Conard and Step sister Sandy Sandfort; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Elizabeth Fouts, and his brother, Kermit Conard. A memorial service for Robert will be held 4:30 PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Greeley V.F.W. Pioneer Post 2121, 2514 7th Avenue.
