Robert O. Burgess (Doc), 87, of Ault, Colorado passed away August 18, 2022. He was born in Carl Junction, Missouri on September 3, 1934, to Oras Burgess and Darline (Batton) Burgess.
Robert graduated in 1952 from Eaton High School and then served in the United States Navy for two years and the United States Marine Corp also for two years.
Robert married Edna (Bechthold) Burgess in 1956 and of this union, they had two children, Brenda (Burgess) Helm and Mark R. Burgess. He attended CSCE for two years and then went to the University of Wyoming for an additional 2 years. Robert then received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and in 1964 the University of Oregon conferred to him the Doctor of Medicine Degree.
After completing his internship at the Weld County General Hospital in Greeley, Robert opened his medical office in Laramie, Wyoming and practiced for 30 years. He was then a Locum Tenens in Colorado and Wyoming for 10 years.
Aside from many hobbies that Robert enjoyed, he also authored two books, "Amy's Gold" and "Comes A Pale Horse".
Robert was predeceased by both of his parents, a sister Vivian Lowndes and his brother Gary.
He is survived by his wife Edna, daughter Brenda, and his son Mark, his grandchildren Dustin and Dillon Helm, Kassidy and Kara Burgess, two brothers Gifford and Greg Burgess, and a sister Sheila McIntosh.
There will be a farewell service for family and friends held September 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the Eaton Methodist Church.
