Obituary

Roger Guy Holmes, 76, of Eaton, Colorado, (and Cameron, West Virginia) passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2012, in Cameron, West Virginia, as a result of a tractor accident.
He was born on November 22, 1935, to Edwin and Margaret Holmes in Cameron, West Virginia. He was one of eight children and he is preceded in death by his brother Dean and his twin brother, and his parents.
Roger married Janice Lou Strait in Aleppo, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1960. They spent their first years living in Claysville, Pennsylvania and on Dry Ridge and Dodge Ridge near Cameron, West Virginia. During the years of 1964 and 1965, two daughters were born. Kimberly Jo was born in West Virginia in 1964 and Yvonne was born in 1965 in Pennsylvania. The family moved to Eaton, Colorado in 1972; however, Roger spent most of his life living in West Virginia where he loved to farm, ride on his tractors and also loved tinkering on his tractors and cars, as well as, attending livestock auctions, sale barns, and farm sales. Roger also worked for Monfort, Inc., beginning in 1972 until the plant was forced to close in 1979.
Roger had many friends and he knew no strangers. You could always count on receiving a smile from Roger as he always had a smile on his face and joked with almost everyone he met. He loved people and it showed; he was loved by many.
Roger graduated from Cameron High School and then went on to attend business school in Wheeling, West Virginia. He attended the First Baptist Church in Eaton, Colorado; the First Baptist Church in Cameron, West Virginia and the First Baptist Church in Ryerson Station, Pennsylvania.
Roger is survived by his wife, Janice, of Eaton, Colorado; daughter Kimberly Jo Bouck also of Eaton, Colorado and stepdaughter, Kasey Bouck of La Porte, Colorado; and Yvonne & Gary Anderson of Morrison, Colorado.
