Obituary

Roland Michael Schiller, 65, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

He was born on March 6, 1961, in Gary, Indiana to Michael and Gerda (Skwirba) Schiller. He attended schools in Merrillville, Indiana, graduating from Merrillville High School. Roland met the love of his life, Sherri Rotello, and the two were married on October 15, 1983, in Welby, Colorado. They settled in Broomfield, Colorado. Together they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Amanda and Meagan, who completed their little family. In 2019, Roland and Sherri moved to Greeley, where they have lived since.

Roland was truly a jack-of-all-trades. His family always believed there was nothing he couldn’t do or fix once he set his mind to it. He and Sherri owned and operated a construction business for more than 20 years, building custom homes and commercial buildings. They later moved to Wyoming, where Roland began working in the oil and gas industry and the couple started another business together. In 2010, they returned to Colorado, and Roland continued his career in oil and gas. Hardworking and capable, he took great pride in working with his hands and seeing a job through. Outside of work, Roland loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and playing golf.

Above all, Roland loved his family. He always looked forward to the time he got to spend with them, and he especially cherished his grandchildren. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. He will be missed beyond measure and forever loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Gerda Schiller.

Roland is survived by his wife, Sherri Schiller of Greeley, Colorado; his daughters, Amanda (Colby) Cantwell of Eaton, Colorado, and Meagan (Robert) Meyer of Bradenton, Florida; and his four loving granddaughters, Austin and Adrien Cantwell, and Harper and Hattie Meyer.

A Celebration of Roland’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Eaton Community Church, 1561 Benjamin Drive, Eaton, Colorado, 80615.
