Ronald Rutt, 73, of Evans Colorado, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at N.C.M.C.
He was born on September 19, 1943 to Alex and Esther (Jacoby) Rutt in Johnstown, Colorado.
He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1962. In June 1963, he married Karen Elsberry. They had three children. Ron loved being on the Johnstown fire department, where he was fire chief for many years. He loved woodworking, making things for his grandchildren and of course for Karen.
Ron loved horses, and shod horses for many years. He was involved in agriculture his whole life. He farmed with his parents in the Johnstown and Yuma Colorado areas, then went into sales of John Deere equipment, at Law equipment. He then worked in the pinto bean business.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Rutt, his children, Renee (Greg) Wheeler of Loveland, Colorado; Teresa (Craig) Davidson of Bairoil, WY, and Kevin Rutt of Cheyenne, WY, 7 grandchildren: Joshua (Karri) Wheeler, Matthew (Kyle) Wheeler, Toby (Desiree) Wheeler, Phylicia Davidson, Brooke (Mike) Beck, Woodrow Davidson and Declan Rutt, 9 great grandchildren, Caleb, Allie, Abbie and Zander Wheeler; Carter, Trinity, Bryson, Audrey and James Beck, a sister-in-law, Sue Rutt of Golden CO, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Nadine Lott Elson and Lavonne Kenworthy and brothers, Robert and Norman Rutt.
Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley, with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Interment following Johnstown cemetery.
