Ronald Eugene "Ron" Schneider, 54 of Greeley, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital in Wheatridge, Colorado.
Ron was born on February 8, 1955 in Greeley, Colorado to Albert "Red" and Marian Ruth (Bott) Schneider.
He graduated from Greeley High School in 1974. He immediately enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Goldsborough and the USS Dupont. He served in active duty from 1974 until 1981 and later enlisted in the Navy Reserves for four years. Ron married Rebecca "Becky" Wiseman on August 25, 2005 in Greeley.
He worked for Newco Electrical Supply in Greeley and Loveland for the past 25 years. He loved playing golf and was a member of the Eaton Country Club and a member of the Greeley V.F.W, Pioneer Post #2121. He also enjoyed bowling and most especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Schneider of Greeley; his sister and her husband, Sandy and Steve Billenwillms of Burr Oak, Kansas; his brother, Randy Schneider of Greeley; a son, Brandon Valenciano of Greeley; his nieces Marly Bunnell and her husband Bill Hunt of Highlands Ranch, Jodi Bunnell of California and Kendra Schneider of California; and his nephew Nick Schneider of Greeley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marian Schneider, aunt, Edvina Cameron and uncle, Ed Bott.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Greeley V.F.W. (2514 7th Avenue). Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel (3501 S 11th Ave, in Evans.)
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Staging Area "A" at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
