Russell M. Richardson, 92 of Greeley, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.
He was born on April 5, 1915 in Salisbury, Missouri to John Milam and Ida May (Lusher) Richardson.
Russell married S. Frances Wilson on December 21, 1933 in Prairie Hill, Missouri. They moved to Colorado in 1953 and moved to Greeley in 1974.
Mr. Richardson farmed in both Missouri and Colorado. He also owned and operated with his sons, Richardson Trucking. He served in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII and he received his honorable discharge in October of 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Richardson of Greeley; 5 sons, William R. Richardson of Clifton Hill, Missouri, Ronald M. Richardson of Greeley, John E. Richardson of Greeley, James M. Richardson of Gill and Jerry D. Richardson of Greeley; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Lucille Vitt of Paris, Missouri and Irene Harlan of Midland, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard L. Richardson in 1991 and 2 brothers, Porter and Elmer Richardson.
A funeral service to celebrate Russell's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
