Salvador Marquez, 81, of Pierce passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
He was born on March 2, 1944, in El Salvador to Conception Granados Marquez and Nicolas Benavidas. He came to the United States and settled in Colorado in 1981. On March 25, 1985, he married Linda Sue Shell in Ault, Colorado.
Salvador enjoyed working outside in his yard and garden. He also loved spending time with his two dogs. He was employed as a farm hand in the Ault and Pierce area for many years and eventually retired from landscaping in 2009.
He is survived by his sons, Jose (Rosa) Marquez of Greeley, Roberto Marquez of Greeley, daughters, Leonicia, Naomi, and Bitalia Marquez all of Greeley, Blanca Marquez of Pennsylvania, and Rosalba Marquez of El Salvador, his stepdaughter, Stephanie (Ricky) Garcia of Pierce and 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marquez, parents, Concepcion Granados Marquez and Nicolas Benavidas and a son, Fabio Marquez.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m. all at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. A Liturgy of the Word service will follow at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
