Sam Meyer, 92 of Greeley, died on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center. He was born on May 22, 1916 in Windsor, Colorado to George and Elizabeth (Weglin) Meyer. Sam married Lorene Davis to whom he was married for many years. He was very athletic even with a stiff leg which was a result of a childhood injury. He enjoyed picnic reunions and loved working in his garden. He worked in sheet metal & construction for many years. Mr. Meyer was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He had a tremendous love for his church and spent many hours working and volunteering there. Survivors include a son Terry who lives out of state; a sister and her husband, Martha and Bob Whitman of Greeley and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Meyer; his parents, George and Elizabeth Meyer; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Marcel Pichot of the Greeley Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Moser Funeral Service in Evans is in charge of arrangements.
