Sarah "Sally" Yvonne Longan-Nelson, 86, of Greeley passed away November 10, 2023. She was born April 3, 1937, in Ogden, Utah to Chester and Ellen (Erickson) Plant. Affectionately known as Sally, she grew up in Ogden and attended Ben Lomond High School, she was part of the graduating class of 1955. On June 18, 1954, Sally married Robert Connell, and to this union, Robert, Randy, Craig and Cathy were born. Upon the passing of Robert, Sally eventually re-married Pat (Harold) Longan, and then Lyle Nelson.
Sally was an extremely kind, generous and loving person, always willing to lend her love and support to those around her. Always dressed to the 9's, she took great pride in her appearance and without a doubt you can be sure she had on a favorite pair of earrings and her best shade of lipstick. An oldie, but goodie, Sally loved listening to some legendary greats such as Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Nat King Cole, and Frank Sinatra. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays, she and her grandsons would decorate every room in her home, this was so much fun that her grandson's friends would even pitch in to help. Sally had such a lovely voice and singing to her grandbabies was one of her favorite past-times, as well as enjoying family dinners. Family and friends were so very important to Sally, and she will be eternally missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Robert (Carol) Connell of Kentucky, Randy (Tracey) Connell of Greeley, Colorado Craig (Daurice) Connell of Central City, Colorado and Cathy (Laura) Connell of Brigham City, Utah, her grandchildren Brody, Madison, Chris, and Mitchell all of Greeley, Talor of Ogden, and Barbara and Brent of Rock Springs, Wyoming, great grandchildren Karsen of Greeley, J'Kobi, J'Qoy of Ogden, Freya of Rock Springs and Dahlila of Montana, and her loving yorkie Bentley.
She is preceded by her parents Chester and Ellen Plant, her first husband Robert Connell and her second husband, Pat Longan and her third husband Lyle Nelson.
