Tribute: Scott Lawrence Mackey April 23, 1975 - September 28, 2008

Scott Lawrence Mackey was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Dr. Lawrence and Sid (Dorsey) Mackey. He was active in Boy Scouts and High School football. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1993. He resided in Estes Park, Denver, St. Louis and Eaton, Colorado.
Scott married Hilary Hughes on September 21, 2002. Hillary works at the Eaton High School. Scott was employed by Phillips Plumbing & Mechanical. He was an apprentice, nearing Journeyman status. One of his proudest moments was when he helped build the addition to North Colorado Medical Center – including the room his 2nd son was born in. He did the tile mosaic at Greeley Central of the mascot, and also did the tile work at the Budweiser Event Center.
Scott's love for the outdoors and mountains was evident in his affinity for hunting, fishing, skiing and snowboarding. His main love was his two precious boys. He also loved animals of every type, including his dog, cat and snakes.
Survivors: His wife Hilary Mackey and their two sons, Chase and Cayle all of Eaton; his father and mother, Larry and Sid Mackey of Greeley; his brother, Bryan Mackey of Couer 'D' Alene, Idaho; his sister, Jill Mackey of Fairplay, Colorado and his uncle, Jack Mackey of Greeley, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Donald & Ruth Mackey and Louis and Bernadene Dorsey.
A memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the First Christian Church 2230 13th Street in Greeley. A reception will follow at the Mackey family home (108 38th Avenue) in Greeley.
