Silbestre A. (Silver) Grimaldo Sr., 79 of Greeley, died on Sunday, March 30, 2008 near his home. He was born on November 26, 1927 in Hobson, Texas to Reyes and Refugia (Arispe) Grimaldo. Silbestre married Dorothy Marie Rebeterano on January 16, 1953. Mr. Grimaldo retired from Luther Equipment where he was a mechanic. Silbestre also played for the Greeley Grey's baseball team from 1948 until 1969. He was also a member of Victory Outreach of Greeley. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Marie Grimaldo; 2 sons, Antonio Gallegos and his wife Josie of San Angelo, Texas and Silbestre Grimaldo Jr. of Greeley, Colorado; 2 daughters, Susie Rodriguez and her husband David of Greeley, Colorado and Margie DeHerrera and her husband Tim of Pueblo, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Shirley Marie Esquibel, Susana Santillano, Steve Gallegos, Brandie Lee Mendoza, Tim DeHerrera, Antoinette DeHerrera and Mike DeHerrera; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and special friends, Christie, Miranda, Cruz, David and Nestia Nuonez. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Reyes and Refugia Grimaldo on January 16, 1953; 2 brothers and a sister, Maria Ruiz. A Christian Burial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Victory Outreach of Greeley, 2626 11th Avenue Unit "B" behind the Ace Hardware store. Pastor Robert Dominguez will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A prayer service will follow at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Victory Outreach. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
