Stanley "Stan" L. Brown, 83, of Eaton, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at UC Health in Greeley.
He was born August 28, 1939, in Ogallala, Nebraska to Frank and Estalla Phearl (Swindle) Brown. After graduating from Ogallala High School, he attended Idaho State University where he was a prominent member of the University's football team, while obtaining his bachelor's degree in education. He then went on to get a master's degree from Adams State University. He taught at Westminster High School from 1965-1967 and he was also the head football coach, before beginning his career in insurance. He worked at various insurance agencies before starting his own with State Farm, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.
Stan was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Eaton. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Leah M. Piller in Ogallala and they moved to Eaton in 1975. They both were vital members of the Eaton Community and served the community well.
He is survived by his wife, Leah M. Brown, his son, Shane (Dawn) Brown, his daughter, Linda Brown-Smith, and 4 grandchildren, Joe Rael, Lauren Sturch, Spencer Brown, and Gunnar Smith.
A celebration of Stan's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd Street, in Eaton.
