Stanley Todd Johnson, 82, of Evans, Colorado died on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley, Colorado.
He was born on March 20, 1926 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Clarence Elmer "Ole" and Mercy O. (Edwards) Johnson. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1944. Mr. Johnson later joined the Army Air Corps.
He served during WWII from 1945 until 1948 in the China, Burma, India Theatre of operations as a cryptographer.
Mr. Johnson served as a scoutmaster in Fort Morgan in the late 1950's and was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #2551 also in Fort Morgan. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #538 and the Sierranaders Barbershop Chorus in Grass Valley, California, the Valentine City Barbershop Chapter in Loveland, Colorado and he was a member of the West Greeley Baptist Church. He retired from the Fort Collins Post Office in 1986.
Stanley married Floye "Babe" Anderson on March 16, 1947. She preceded him in death in October of 1994. He later married Lucille Morris in July of 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Johnson of Evans; 2 daughters, Vicki Slaton and husband, Steve, of Fort Collins, Colorado and Kris Johnson of Aurora, Colorado and his son, Hal Johnson of Denver, Colorado; 2 step daughters, Catherine Jones of Westminster, Colorado and Ramona Vigil of Brighton, Colorado and a step son, Stephen Travis of Williamstown, Massachusetts. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bonnie Beckman and Berniece Long. A memorial service to celebrate Stanley's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the West Greeley Baptist Church, 3251 W. 22nd Street. Cremation.
