Susie Morales, 62, of Platteville, died on Monday, February 12, 2007 at her home. She was born on April 14, 1944 in Roswell, New Mexico to Margarito and Jesusita Rosa (Morales) Rodriguez. Susie was married to Andres Sanchez and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2004. She graduated from Ft. Collins High School in 1963. She later went on to work at the Carousel Restaurant and Tavern as a waitress from 1973 until 1990. In 1992 she went to work for I.B.M. She lived in Gilcrest from 1973 until 1995 and in Platteville from 1995 until her death. Mrs. Morales attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gilcrest. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. Survivors include 2 daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Pablo Luna of Greeley and Mary Cortez and Steve Ramirez of Longmont; 3 sons and their wives, John Sr. & Nancy Cortez of Ft. Collins, Joe & Kelly Cortez of Ft. Collins and Robert A. and Barbara Cortez of Ft. Collins; 3 sisters, Beatrice Bell of Marion, Texas, Martha Rupp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Manuela Emma Sanchez of Roswell, New Mexico; a brother, Reuben Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada and 12 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andres Sanchez; a son, Timothy L. Cortez and a brother, Arthur Rodriguez. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd St. in Greeley. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans with visitation being held on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
