VAN SUMMERS (BUD) FULKERSON January20, 2008 Age: 91 Residence: Greeley Tribute; Van Fulkerson was born March 14, 1916 in Carmi, Illinois to Maude and Elijah Fulkerson. He spent his entire career working for American Oil until his retirement in 1974. Soon after his retirement he was coaxed back to work for American Oil to develop oil resources in foreign countries for the United States. He has enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, Perk, two sons Vance and Don, his daughter-in-law Maria, and three grand children Sonia, Kevin and Ryan, and his loving niece Jean Hill. Much of his retirement was spent traveling in their Winnebago, in their fishing boat the Perky V, or working in his woodshop. He was an awesome angler, a remarkable wood craftsman and a great fixer of all things electrical or mechanical. If any project was happening he was always in the middle of it. He provided his technical expertise not only to family but also to friends and strangers in need. He was a Good Samaritan. He was a proud supporter of both performing and visual arts while also an avid sports fan. He loved the Rockies through thick and thin. Of all the places he had been, he loved Colorado the most. He was a great husband and Dad. Van will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors: His wife Perk Fulkerson, his sons Vance Fulkerson and Don Fulkerson, His daughter-in-law Maria Fulkerson, his granddaughter Sonia Rivera and grandsons Kevin Fulkerson and Ryan Fulkerson of Valencia California, and niece Jean Hill of Wood River , Illinois. Services: Bud's wishes were to have not services at this time. Cremation.
