Vernon Lynn Lesh, 90 of Eaton, died on December 31, 2008 at his home.
He was born on March 2, 1918 on a ranch east of Nunn, Colorado to Ira and Jessie (Blake) Lesh. He was the oldest son of 10 children born to that union. He graduated from Pierce High School in in Pierce, Colorado.
Mr. Lesh served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He fought in 10 major Naval battles during the time he served. He was also a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Ham radio network.
Vernon owned and operated Lesh Electric from 1951 until his retirement in 1985. He was a past Grand Master of the Eaton Masonic Lodge #109 AF & AM.
Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Lyn and Phil Nichols of Nevada City, California; 2 sons and their wives, Mike and Judy Lesh of Maine and Jeff and Rhonda Lesh of Eaton, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and his ex-wife, Vivian Marie Canfield of Maine.
Private family funeral services will be held at the Alger Memorial United Methodist Church in Eaton. Interment will be in the Eaton Cemetery.
