Obituary

Victor Stertz, 86, of Greeley, died on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the North Colorado Medical Center. He was born on April 13, 1920 in Atwood, Colorado to Frederick and Elizabeth (Kraft) Stertz. Victor married Margie Nell Johnston on January 3, 1945 in Denver. The couple raised their family in Westminster. They moved to Greeley in 1984. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as an electrician retiring in 1979. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 60 years and he was also a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife, Margie Stertz of Greeley; a daughter and her husband, Charlotte and Dan Roberts of Greeley; 2 sons and their wives, Thomas and Celina Stertz of Colorado Springs and Joseph & Phyllis Stertz of Madison, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. A funeral service to celebrate Victor's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at St. Paul's Congregational Church. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Paul's Congregational Church in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado.
