VIRGINIA LOU CLAYCOMB-SWENSON April 15, 1932 – September 28, 2006 Age: 74 Residence: Lived in Greeley for 2 years coming from Arvada Tribute: Virginia Lou "Jinny Lou" Claycomb-Swenson passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley, Colorado after a struggle of over 16 years with Alzheimser's. Virginia was born on April 15, 1932 in Carrollton, Missouri to Royal "Pop" and Madeline Claycomb. She grew up in Lindsborg, Kansas. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Stormont-Vail School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. On September 26, 1953 she married Carl Swenson. She was a very accomplished pianist. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all. Survivors: Husband Carl Swenson; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Dorothy Swenson, grandchildren Michael and Sarah, of Greeley; son David of Garland, TX; daughter and son-in-law Carla and Jim Greenhalgh, grand children Katelynn and Christina, of Colorado Springs; son and daughter-in-law John and Vicki Swenson, grandchildren Connor and Madelynn, of Littleton, CO; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Virginia Claycomb of Bella Vista, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents. Services: Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 2nd at 11:30 a.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 10001 W. 58th Avenue (58th Avenue & Kipling Parkway), Arvada, Colorado 80002. Inurnment will be at Freemount Lutheran Church, Freemount, Kansas. Memorials will be distributed by the family to Eldergarden Day Care Center, Greeley, CO, Stormont-Vail School of Nursing, Bonell Good Samaritan Community, Bethany College, and others as donors designate.
