Walter Langhorn died on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit in Greeley. He was born March 28, 1935 in Denver, Colorado where he worked and lived most of his life. He and his wife, Karen, moved to Greeley in 2001.
Mr. Langhorn served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne, U. S. Army, 1957-1959. He was stationed in Germany and Lebanon.
Through the years Mr. Langhorn was a model train enthusiast and enjoyed archery, hunting, bowling, square dancing, playing pool and remodeling their homes. He also had a passion for animals. A retired truck driver and small business owner, his greatest joy after retiring was travelling around the U. S. with his wife in their RV and camping with friends. They were members of the Sunrise Sams camping club.
Survivors: Wife, Karen; 2 sons, Jeffrey and his wife, Laurie and Kevin and his wife, Marie; 5 grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Preceded in death by his daughter and parents.
Services will held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley, with interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
