William Allen "Bill" Van Hazel, 57 of Greeley, Colorado died on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at his home.
He was born on July 23, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa to William and Mary (Johnson) Van Hazel. He lived in Sioux City until the 1970's when he moved to Long Beach, California where he graduated from high school and he lived until moving to Butte, Montana in 1975 where he lived until 1989. He lived in Hermiston, Oregon from 1996 until moving to Greeley in 2000.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 until 1972 until he was honorably discharged. He worked for the Wal-Mart distribution center in Hermiston and later Noffsinger Manufacturing in Greeley. He also attended Aims Community College in Greeley for 2 years.
Mr. Van Hazel was a diehard Bronco's fan and loved music, especially the Beatles.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Amber Danielle and Ryan Trukositz of Kennewick, Washington; his son and daughter in law, William Christopher and Lynda Van Hazel of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Anastasia, Avram and Liam; his ex wife, Jackie Rowe Van Hazel of Great Falls, Montana; 3 sisters, Barb Parsons and Rebecca Lane both of Greeley and Beverly Haggerman of Livingston, Montana and a brother, Brad Van Hazel of Broomfield, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his mother and step father, Mary & Bill Johnson and father and step mother, William and Mabel Van Hazel and a brother, Bob McPhee.
A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
