Winifred Krafft, 86, of Eaton, Colorado was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. Winnie was born in Nagercoil, India on February 21, 1924 to missionary parents, George and Erna (Baske) Schroeder. Winnie attended high school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois in 1945. She married Edward Krafft in October of 1945 and joined him in the India mission field, where they spent 16 years. Ed and Winnie were blessed with eight children; four boys and four girls. During her years in Greeley, Winnie was involved in many activities at church and in the community. She served thirty years as recording secretary of the Weld County Livestock Association and was a substitute teacher at Trinity Lutheran School for many years. She leaves behind her husband, her children, a brother, George, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One grandchild, Adrienne Murphy preceded her in death in May of 2000. A funeral service to celebrate Winnie's life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 950 43rd Avenue in Greeley. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A private family visitation will be held. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church to be used for mission work in India, the Alzheimer's Association or to Bonell Good Samaritan Center.
